Hi! My name is Nate Whitson. My website uses my “fancy” name, Nathan J. Whitson, but I only have two people who ever really called me that – my grandma Edie (in her sweet, southern accent than sounded more like “Nay-Than”) and my local pizza shop owner, Scott (I’m not sure why he always did). The only other time I heard “Nathan” was when I was in trouble at home as a kid. That being said, you can call me Nathan if you’d like, but most people just call me Nate.
Some people (who I happen to love more than anything else) call me “Daddy”. It’ll be kind of weird if you decide to call me that, but hey, we’re online so feel free! I can’t hear you anyways. The ones who do call me that are my four daughters, Allisyn, Aubrey, Ainsley, and Andi Mae. I am so grateful to have them in my life and to be their daddy!
My best friend, Sarah (who is my wife), calls me “hottie”. Ok, I’m lying. She has never called me that. But it’s my About page and I can pretend, right?! My wife is awesome and I love her so much. She and I work together in our family-focused business and that has made our lives even more fun than it already was. We have a passion for what we do and love to see people’s lives change and grow. It has strengthened our marriage and home in many ways and we’re so grateful to share our lives and do business together.
My Personal Mission
My personal mission has everything to do with why I created this blog in the first place. It is this:
My personal mission is to Influence, Inspire, and Lead people to live life to the fullest.
I have been on a focused journey for much of my life to pursue wisdom and become wise. To do this, I decided early on in my life to hang out with and come under the teaching and influence of some of the best minds and hearts possible. Some of my favorite people to hang out with (although this is certainly not an exhaustive list!) are people like Jesus, my dad, Darren Hardy, Jim Rohn, Andy Stanley, Anthony Robbins, Michael Hyatt, and Tony Evans. They all have greatly influenced me and have helped me to have a greater influence on others. What I share with you is a reflection of what has been shared with me from the people I’m around and those who I study, read, listen to, and follow. (note: most of these favorite people and me just “hang out” online, in books, or YouTube. Jesus is in my heart and we talk every day. I see my dad every week. The rest of the people I mentioned have no idea who I am. But I’m sure we’d be friends if they’d let me.)
The definition of Inspire is: “To fill someone with the urge or ability to do or feel something.” Inspiration, then, flows from who or what influences your heart and mind. That’s why I have made it a practice to hang out with people who inspire me. People who fill me with the urge to become more. People who are positive, hopeful, honest, and motivational.
As I follow and learn from people like this, I can’t help but be inspired. It makes me “feel something” every time I am with them. It makes me know that I am able to do more than I once believed possible. More importantly, it fuels my mission and goal to fill you, my Tribe, with the same urge and abilities to do and feel something more than you once believed possible as well. My goal, then, is to inspire you and your family to focus on what really matters most.
When you boil it all down to what is most needed to win in and thrive at life, it is this: we all need help. We can’t do it alone. We need people to lead us and help us to get from where we are to where we want to go. We need leaders in our lives who will walk with us, show us the ropes, and take us through the challenges and obstacles that we will surely face. That is what I want to be for you. Someone who can lead you through life as I follow the lead of those who are better and further along than me. True leaders have the ability to Influence and Inspire. But the leaders we love the most are those who can do that while helping us to successfully reach our goals.
In this case, I want to help lead you and your families to thrive at life and stay focused on what matters most.
I am a blogger, entrepreneur, author, and home-based business owner. I am a huge advocate for the “business from home” lifestyle and the rewards and benefits that come with it. Like you, I want to see my family stay focused and thrive in the areas of life that matter most. So if you relate with that – then this site will be great for you!
A Quick Note: My blog is not a “Christian” blog. I am simply a Jesus follower because He saved me, makes my life better, and helps me do life better than I can on my own. I believe He can do the same for you, too. My worldview is central to who I am so it comes out in a lot of my writing. That being said, I believe the content will be helpful to anyone who chooses to follow me and I want you to know that you don’t have to be a Christian to be a part of my Tribe or to love this site. Everyone is welcome!
My ultimate goal is for this blog to be incredibly helpful to you as you strive to stay focused on what matters most. That is how I filter what I write, give away, or create as products. I am constantly asking myself: “Would this be helpful?” If I think it will be, I include it on this site.
Lastly, I do not write as one who has it all put together or whose family is flawless. Just the opposite. I struggle and want more for me and my family, just like you do. I believe that all experiences are learning experiences and do not view them as “good or bad”. I am a study of life and simply invite you to follow along and learn with me as I go.
The Bottom Line
Here’s how I have summed up what this is about and why I created this site with you in mind (you’ve seen it already many times):
“Helping families focus on what really matters most.”
That’s what this blog is all about! I want to help you win and thrive in the areas of your life that matter the most. To help you to accomplish this, I write about such topics as Marriage, Finances, Parenting, Spirituality, Health, Relationships, Business, and on occasion, just Random stuff that doesn’t exactly fit into any of those categories.
I typically post twice a week and may add to this schedule as I grow. Right now, I post on a Monday and Wednesday schedule. If you’d like to make sure that you never miss out on my newest posts, you can click here. It’s quick, easy, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
